Fans of mid-2000s gangsta rap rejoice: A new G-Unit mixtape is dropping next week. DJ Whoo Kid, who was the group’s official DJ for several years during their ascent to national notoriety, said as much in a recent tweet.
Attached to Whoo Kid’s tweet is a clip of an unreleased Young Buck and Kidd Kidd song. As you probably could’ve guessed, the track sees the two rappers reflecting on their unwillingness to abandon the street life.
According to Whoo Kid, the project is titled The Lost Flash Drive, and Tony Yayo is the person most responsible for pushing its release. While Whoo Kid didn’t elaborate too much on the subject, the title points toward the project being comprised of older G-Unit songs that were found on a “lost flash drive.” We’ll probably be getting more info in the near future.
